Sovereign Citizen

Pastor Keith Alexander

The Book of Joel delivers a sobering word to anyone who has chosen to live as a spiritual sovereign citizen — outside of God's authority, self-governed, answering to no one but themselves. Consequences of rebellion are real, the judgment is severe, and no one ends up in the Valley of Jehoshaphat by accident. We mistake God's patience for permission, and His extended grace for evidence that the rules don't apply to us — but the same God who is slow to anger is perfect in justice, and every season of grace has an expiration. Yet the heart of this message is not condemnation — it's an invitation. Because what the sovereign citizen sees as restriction, the child of God knows as covering. His lordship is not a cage; it is a fortress. And in the end, two people stand before God — one demanding rights, one surrendering in sonship — and only one walks away with the Father's name over their life.
