Dirty Jobs

The Christian walk can often fall into the category of a “Dirty Job”.  You may not think so, because when we accept the Lord as our savior, we trade our sin, our ugliness, our mess, for the righteousness of Christ.  But the truth is…that in order to actually live out and experience true victory from our bondage, we have to accept the call of Christ and do hard things.  Our life in Christ, requires that we die, and death is a messy business.  It’s not about being comfortable, its not about fulfilling our needs, it’s not even about our gifts and talents.  It’s a life of daily crucifixion, and that doesn’t really sound like a job that we would all want to sign up for.  In this passage, James and John express these same perspectives to Jesus.  They are just like you and me.
